Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The southern two-thirds of Minnesota is now under a wind chill advisory.

The National Weather Service posted the advisory for the Rochester area at midnight and it will remain in effect until noon on Sunday. Forecasters are predicting wind chill readings around 20-below zero this afternoon and then in the -25 to -35 range tonight and into Sunday morning.

The actual temperature overnight is predicted to drop to -20, which will be the coldest it has been in the Rochester area since Valentine's Day last year when the morning low hit 24-below zero. The unofficial morning low in Rochester today was -5.

The arctic air mass responsible for the frigid cold is expected to remain in place for the next week. The high temperature on Sunday may not reach zero and forecasters are predicting daytime highs in the low single-digits above zero through the entire week with low temperates in the -5 to -10 degree range.
