Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Mayo Clinic's only remaining drive-through COVID-19 testing site in Rochester is ending operation.

A news release says the Mayo Clinic Northwest Clinic testing facility will be consolidated with the Graham Park Collaborative Collection Site on Monday. Locally, all individuals seeking to be tested for the new coronavirus will be directed to the testing site at the Olmsted County Fairgrounds, which is staffed by Mayo Clinic, Olmsted Medical Center, and Olmsted County Public Health personnel.

In announcing the consolidation, the Mayo Clinic says the move will optimize the supply chain for testing supplies, streamline the transport of specimens for testing, and make the best use of staff resources. The news release says the integrated community testing location can support increased testing volumes and has space for smooth traffic flow.

Anyone seeking to be tested is advised they may experience longer wait times temporarily as workflows are adjusted for the higher patient volumes. The hours of operation will remain weekdays from 9:30 AM until 5 PM. On weekends, the hours are 10 AM until 4 PM.

The Mayo Clinic is still operating COVID-19 testing sites in Albert Lea, Austin, Owatonna, and Red Wing.
