COVID-19: Another Rochester Business Temporarily Shutting Down

Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Yet another longtime Rochester business has been affected by the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.

Rochester City Lines has issued this notice to its riders, mostly Mayo Clinic employees:

Dear Commuter Bus Riders,
After much deliberation, we have made the difficult decision to suspend all commuter bus service at the end of the day on Monday, April 20th, 2020. We do not make this decision lightly, but the unprecedented impact of COVID-19 has caused our ridership to decline over 85% in the last month. While we do not have a firm date on when service will resume, we are taking these actions now to ensure that when demand returns, we will stand ready to respond.

Annual Passes should be turned in to Mayo Clinic’s Card Access Offices either downtown or at St. Marys. Monthly passes and 10-Ride tickets will be honored when service resumes.

We thank you, we miss you, and we hope to see you all again very soon.

Rochester City Lines was the city’s public transit operator for nearly 50 years before it lost the contract in 2012. It continued operating its wide-ranging commuter operation, charter service and travel tour business.
