The loss of Linkin Park's Chester Bennington has been felt throughout the music industry, but while many of his peers have weighed in with their tributes and statements, the effect of his death hits home the most with his immediate family. While his Linkin Park bandmates recently issued their first statement since Bennington's death, we're now getting the first public statement from the singer's widow.

Talinda Bennington offered her first comments on Chester's passing, stating, "We had a fairytale life and now it has turned into some sick Shakespearean tragedy." The singer's widow has vowed to raise the couple's children with every ounce of love she has, but she also wanted the Linkin Park community know that their support and love has been felt during this sorrowful time. Her full statement can be read below.

One week ago, I lost my soulmate and my children lost their hero-their
Daddy. We had a fairytale life and now it has turned into some sick
Shakespearean tragedy. How do I move on? How do I pick up my shattered
soul? The only answer I know is to raise our babies with every ounce of
love I have left. I want to let my community and the fans worldwide know
that we feel your love. We feel your loss as well. My babies are so young
to have lost their daddy. And I know that all of you will help keep his
memory alive. He was a bright, loving soul with an angel's voice. And now
he is pain free singing his songs in all of our hearts. May God Bless us
all and help us turn to one another when we are in pain. Chester would've
wanted us to do so. Rest In Peace, my love.

Always,
Mrs. Talinda Bennington

Bennington leaves behind six children, three of which came from his relationship with Talinda. They wed in 2006, a year after he divorced from his first wife Samantha. He and Samantha had one child during their marriage. His first two children came from a previous relationship in which he fathered a child with Elka Brand and adopted her other son.

In Linkin Park's statement, they added that their "hearts were broken" and that the singer's "absence leaves a void that can never be filled." They added, "Talinda and the family appreciate it, and want the world to know that you were the best husband, son, and father; the family will never be whole without you." You can read their full statement here.

There has also been a site launched as a forum for fans to discuss Bennington, offer their tributes and view key info for suicide prevention organizations. You can find that here.
