Charges in Rochester KFC Shooting Case Dismissed
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The charges brought against a Rochester man in connection with one of the two shootings that occurred last summer in the parking lot of a Rochester restaurant have been dismissed.
27-year-old Karshe Adan had faced charges of aiding and abetting first-degree aggravated robbery and second-degree assault based on allegations that he was involved in what Rochester police described as an apparent “drug deal gone bad” in the parking lot at the KFC restaurant in southeast Rochester last June 25th. It resulted in shots being fired and a 24-year-old man suffering a gunshot wound. Police also reported that a 5-year-old child was nearly hit by one of the bullets.
Following an evidentiary hearing in February, the judge in the case last week granted a defense motion and dismissed the charges against Adan after ruling there was not enough evidence to bring the case to trial.
The person responsible for the actual shooting has never been arrested.
