Canadian Police Are Threatening Drunk Drivers With Nickelback

Yeah, this is actually a thing...

According to CNN, Canadian police (in one town anyway) are going to blast Nickelback while drunk drivers are hauled away in the backs of squad cars. They explain, "The Canadian town of Kensington has hit upon a genius plan to detract its residents from drinking and driving this holiday season. Not only will the cops charge you, they'll also blast Nickelback while they haul you to jail."

I, for one, think this is an idea that will work. If you think that Canada is turning it's back on their hometown rockers - think again, the town of Kensington is just playing along with everyone else's jokes. CNN states, "We are just using a different approach to get an age-old message communicated. As long as it starts the 'Don't drink and drive' dialogue, we're happy with that." Fair enough!
