Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Warmer and drier weather has finally arrived in southeast Minnesota on the final day of the Memorial day weekend - and the final day of May.

Temperatures have been below normal for nearly a week and the area has received nearly two inches of rain during that span.

Rochester's official high temperature on Sunday was only 58 degrees. Normal highs this time of year are in the mid-70s. Saturday's low was a frosty 39 degrees.

But a definite and noticeable change is on the way.

The National Weather Service says temperatures will rise into the mid-70s Monday and then hit the mid-80s by the end of the week. They could climb into the upper 80s next weekend.

And it appears this will be a dry week. The NWS is forecasting just slight chances of rain on Wednesday.
