Big iPhone Theft at Rochester Retailer
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester police are trying to find two men involved in a mega-shoplifting incident at a local retailer.
Officers were called to the north Target store Saturday night after the thieves made off with 42 iPhones valued at $25,000.
A spokesman says the two entered the store around 10:00 PM and went to a secure storage area where the phones were. A bolt cutter was used to gain access to the phones and the men put them in a suitcase. An employee became aware of the theft and tried stopping the men but they walked out, got into a vehicle and drove away.
The only description of the men at this time is two black males between 20 and 30 years old.
The spokesman says the case will likely be treated as a burglary because the phones were in a secure area.
