Arrest Made in Rochester Hotel Robbery

Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man has been arrested as the suspected robber of a local hotel this week.  And, police say he was the night clerk at a different hotel when it was robbed a few weeks ago.

Arrested Wednesday was 20-year-old Abdirisak Affey.

Capt.John Sherwin says he is being charged in the early Tuesday robbery of the Wyndham Garden hotel. Sherwin says he is also a suspect in a similar robbery of the Centerstone Plaza hotel the day before but there is not enough evidence to charge him at this point. Police are also trying to see if he was involved in the robbery of a hotel in Zumbrota earlier this week.

Sherwin says during the investigation into the Rochester robberies, it was learned Affey was the clerk at the Staybridge Suites hotel when it was robbed early Aug 7. Police later arrested 20-year-old Dushawn Minor as the suspect in that robbery.  He’s a former employee of that hotel.
