Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - The 2016 high school football season has arrived.

In Rochester, the Lourdes Eagles are the first team to hit the field. The Eagles will host St. Charles in a 7 p.m. game Thursday at the Rochester Regional Sports Center at RCTC.

The three public high schools open play in Friday night games, all beginning at 7 p.m.

John Marshall - hoping to make a return trip to the state tournament -  opens the season on the road at Austin.

Mayo and Century open the season on their home turf. The Panthers host Winona and the Spartans face Faribault.
