A store that I drive by almost every day in Rochester is saying goodbye.

According to Jeff Kiger's column in the Post Bulletin, Barrel House Liquors in NW Rochester is closing their doors. The last day to visit the store will be on May 31st.

If you aren't sure where this store is located, it is a building that has gone through a few transitions over the years.  I remember it mostly as a gas station.  If that doesn't help...well, it is on the corner by HyVee on Civic Center Drive and next to the Perkins that just closed.

I looked on their website and social media pages and as of right now, there isn't anything posted about their closing or any "store closing" sales. Those might be something to watch just in case they throw some extra special savings before their last day on the 31st.

Barrel House Liquors is owned by the same people who own Half Barrel Bar and Kitchen and Bar Buffalo downtown, Kiger says. I also heard through the grapevine that the staff is amazing here. Glowing reviews, actually. So, to all who work there, thank you for bringing your friendly smiles to Rochester.
