‘Active Threat’ Closes Large Minnesota School District
Lakeville, MN (KROC AM News) - What has been called an “active threat” has led to the cancellation of classes at one of Minnesota’s largest school districts.
The Lakeville district Friday morning alerted staff, students, and families that all “schools and facilities will be closed on Friday, May 21 until further notice due to an active threat under investigation by the Lakeville Police Department.”
The district said all K-12 students will participate in distance learning from home and staff should work remotely.
It added, “With the limited information we have at this time and to support the investigation, please do not report to our school buildings or district facilities until further notice.“
The district said students that were at school when the decision to close was made were to be “picked up immediately.”
