Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Minnesota State Patrol and other law enforcement agencies had a busy weekend dealing with numerous traffic wrecks involving cars and motorcycles, including at least one fatal.  

A head-on wreck north of the Twin Cities Sunday night claimed the life of a woman from Center City. Killed was 35 year old Mary Patterson. The teenager driving the other vehicle and his passenger were treated for non-life threatening injuries. The deadly wreck happened on Highway 61 near Hugo around 10 p.m.

Authorities have identified a Minnesota man who died when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a deer in northeastern North Dakota Friday night  The victim was 50-year-old Kenneth Letexier of East Grand Forks. A passenger suffered serious injuries.

A man from Frederic, Wisconsin was seriously hurt around 8 o’clock Sunday night after crashing his motorcycle in a construction zone on I-35 in Freeborn County. The State Patrol says the man was seen driving erratically just before he crashed. 46 year old Jason Wendelboe was not wearing a helmet and suffered a serious head injury. The Patrol suspects he had been drinking.

A St. James man and his wife were hurt Saturday when the motorcycle they were riding crashed in Lakeville. The State Patrol says 57 year old Donald Zollers was driving on I-35 when he lost control while slowing for traffic. He suffered non-life threatening injuries but his wife Dawn was seriously hurt.

A Cedar Rapids, Iowa man and his wife were hurt Sunday when the classic car they were riding in crashed in Faribault. The State Patrol says the 1940 Chevrolet coupe was driven by 51 year old Susan Wesley. She and her husband Gary suffered serious injuries. Their 18 year old son was treated for non-life threatening injuries. The Patrol says the car - which did not have seatbelts - was southbound on I-35 about noon when a tire blew.  The vehicle left the roadway and rolled.
