A Perfect Circle’s Billy Howerdel: New Album Will Be Finished in ‘Next Several Weeks’
Looks like the wait is almost over, A Perfect Circle fans. During a new interview with APC guitarist Billy Howerdel, the musician revealed the band’s fourth studio album will be finished in “the next several weeks” and will likely see a Q2 release.
Throughout the last year, A Perfect Circle have been slowly introducing fans to new music. The gorgeous “Feathers” and the heavily electronic “Hourglass” were debuted live, setting up fan expectations for a wildly diverse collection of songs. In October, A Perfect Circle added “The Doomed” to their audio manifold, mixing elements like twinkling orchestral bells and Scandinavian war metal. Finally, “Disillusioned” was added to APC’s newest menagerie, showcasing one of Maynard James Keenan’s finest vocal performances to date.
Billy Howerdel spoke about A Perfect Circle’s 2018 plans while guesting on 2 Hours with Matt Pinfield. “We are gonna be finished imminently. I’d say in the next several weeks we will be done with this record,” Howerdel reveals. “But everything exponentially happened quicker and quicker towards the end. I think we’re just getting my studio back on from being on the road."
The axeman adds, “We are certainly past the half way point and I’d say Maynard’s probably further along than I am musically. At least with the finished tracks. The songs are there but there’s tidying up to do there on some stuff there.”
As for a potential release date? “Well, the second quarter [April - June] is when we’ve always been on track to put out this album,” Howerdel says.
An album title hasn’t been revealed just yet, but stay patient, because A Perfect Circle’s first new album in 14 years is right around the corner.
