It might be hard to think about on an April day when we're dealing with snow, ice and below-zero windchills, but a new water park could be headed here to the Med City later this summer!

According to this KTTC-TV story, the Rochester Parks and Recreation Board is considering a proposal from a private company, Water Parks of Minnesota, to install a series of 12 inflatable slides, trampolines and other inflatables at Foster Arend Park.

The graphic in the story made it look a little like the inflatables you can rent for kids' parties-- or kind of like the obstacles that were included in the Insane Inflatable 5K-- except that they're floating on the water.

How cool would that be?!? The story said that Parks and Rec board members were generally in favor of the idea.

"The Park System plan said no big water park, we'll have amenities but no big park feature so to speak," Mike Nigbur, with the Parks and Recreation Department, said in the story. "This helps provide some of that activity that people are looking for during the summertime," the story continued.

The company said it hopes to have everything ready so it can be open in time for summer. The Parks Board will take up the idea-- and could give final approval-- next month.
