I know the COVID-19 information is overwhelming and some people aren't believers, but our numbers are on the rise.  In fact, three Rochester restaurants were listed on the latest list from the Minnesota Department of Health where COVID-19 outbreaks are linked.

On Tuesday, Minnesota received the news that our Governor was turning back the dials to help combat the spread of COVID-19 in our state.  As that was happening, I noticed a story by Bring Me The News that stated 58 bars and restaurants were recently added to the list of places linked to COVID-19 outbreaks.  I casually scrolled through wondering and hoping that the places I stopped at the last few weeks in Minneapolis were safe but was honestly a bit taken aback when I saw several Rochester restaurants listed.

I reached out to the Minnesota Department of Health to verify the list and information after not being able to find it on their website.  They were very helpful and sent me the following report that was updated on November 6th, 2020.

As of 11/05/2020, there have been 194 establishments that have been investigated (referred to environmental health for follow up) for suspected patron transmission of COVID-19 in MN. There have been a total of 209 investigations at these 194 establishments; some establishments have been investigated more than once. There are 3,373 unique cases that report visiting these investigated establishments.
Of these investigations, 117 have met the outbreak threshold and the establishment names have been released to the media. There are 2,406 unique cases that report visiting these outbreak establishments.

  • Secondary cases (further transmission from these cases to household members of the cases, co-workers, or others) are not included in this report.
