We had our first real snowfall and I've been watching social media explode with questions like, "Where's the best place to grab a pair of snowpants for my child?".  While you are going through your closets and seeing what fits and doesn't, put the items you don't need anymore aside and drop those off for kids and families in need in our Rochester community.

There are quite a few winter clothing and coat collection drives happening right now and they are all helping people stay warm this winter in our area.  Check out the list below, share it with your friends, and help spread the word about these great ways to give back:

1)  Share the Warmth event - the big kickoff event happened on Wednesday, October 21st to help provide items for the Rochester Community Warming Center and huge shoutout to everyone that was helping yesterday and to those who donated.  Several vehicles were packed full of donations and it was amazing!  But if you missed that, don't worry!  Bring your gently used coats, gloves, hats, and boots and fill up the boxes located at one of the following locations until October 31st:

  • Charlie's Eatery & Pub
  • COUNTRY Financial
  • Toppers Pizza locations
  • Keller Williams Premier Realty
  • Trillium Spinal Care
2)  Collection drive for The Landing Co. at Christ Community Church - drive-thru donation drop-off at Christ Community Church, 4400 55th Street NW, from 4-6PM for The Landing MN. They are collecting stocking caps, waterproof gloves and warm socks!  Get all the info here.
3)  Clothing Drive for the Salvation Army at Rochester Area Builders - Bring your extra coats or some new ones and drop those items off at the Rochester Area Builders parking lot.  They will be collecting items until October 25th.  You can learn more about it here.
To the entire crew at the Share the Warmth event yesterday, thank you for standing in the cold all day long!  I wasn't able to meet everyone but I did grab a selfie with a few of you in front of the van that was completely full.  Huge shoutout to all of you who were there collecting items and to those who donated.
