WalletHub has come out with their 2022 list of college towns from around the country ranked from best to worst. From that list, there are 3 Minnesota towns that are in the bottom half of the list, so some of the worst college towns in the country.

Did you like the town where you went to college? I went to college in a pretty small town but I really enjoyed it. Because the town was small I was able to walk practically everywhere and still feel safe. Got too crazy at the bar? No problem, your house is probably a few blocks away.

WalletHub ranked 415 college towns/cities around the country. The best college town would be number 1 and the worst would be number 415. Here are the three worst-ranking ones in Minnesota.

222. Moorhead, MN

Ranking number 222 is Moorhead, MN. There are two colleges in Moorhead: Minnesota State University Moorhead and Concordia College. I've been on the Concordia College campus and I thought it was nice but I suppose I didn't spend a ton of time checking out the town.

303. St. Cloud, MN

Ranking 303: St. Cloud, MN. They're of course home to St. Cloud State University but also St. Cloud Technical and Community College. I've never spent a ton of time in St. Cloud but people I know who have spent a good amount of time there didn't particularly enjoy it.

307. St. Paul, MN

And finally, the worst ranking Minnesota college town, coming in at number 307, is St. Paul, MN. I thought this was interesting because St. Paul is a really cool city. However, it is a city and cities tend to be much more dangerous and more expensive than smaller towns. Colleges in St. Paul include Macalester College, Concordia University, Metropolitan State University, University of St. Thomas, Saint Paul College, Century College, St. Catherine University, and Bethel University.

But what Minnesota town rank as the best college town in Minnesota? Minnesota's top-ranking college town comes in as the 66th best in the country: Minneapolis. This makes me even more confused about why St. Paul was the lowest-ranked Minnesota college town but all well.
