Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man was arrested over the weekend after hitting an acquaintance over the head with a hammer.

Officers were called to a residence in the 400 block of 8th Ave NW Saturday morning and found the 52-year-old victim outside. He told officers he was attacked by 40-year-old Frank Towers, who owns the home and had been allowing the victim to stay there for a few days. The victim was taken to St. Marys Hospital for treatment.

Towers - who apparently was on drugs -  refused to come out and began throwing items at the officers. He was eventually taken into custody. He is facing felony assault and other charges.
