I knew this feature was available on my phone (Android) but forgot all about it until last week. Good to know this is available. I was at the car wash last week, cleaning out my car and I picked up my phone and noticed that it had sent out an SOS. It's a feature I completely forgot about until I set it off. Check out what it does:

It sends a text to a person (or up to 4 people) with a picture from the front facing camera and one from the back facing camera.

It also sends a text with your current coordinates and a link that goes to Google Maps. I did not have my "location" on on my phone but it's close enough without it.

And it will send a five-second audio recording of you and your surroundings.

It's VERY easy to set up, too. Again, I have an Android phone so if you have an iPhone, I can't help you. You're on your own. Just kidding. There is an iPhone app.

I've put together a handy photo gallery on how to set this up. First, go into settings on your phone and follow the instructions. Just click on the photo below.

If your child has a cell phone, it's probably a good idea to set this up for them and yourself. You never know when you might need it.
