Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester police officers were sent to investigate an unusual call early Thursday.

A 36-year-old woman called 911 to report a stranger had tried to take her phone - while she was in bed sleeping.

The woman told officers she went to bed late Wednesday and was awakened a few hours later to see a person crouching by her bed, trying to take her phone. She says she screamed and the person ran from the residence. As the woman was getting ready to call police she heard someone knocking on the front door. She yelled and the person left.

The woman says she was certain she had locked all her doors before going to bed and there was no sign of forced entry.

She lives in the 1900 block of Tiffany Cove Lane SW, a few blocks east of Bamber Valley School.
