37 year old Ralph Hodges entered a Norgaard plea to a simple robbery charge, meaning he admits there is enough evidence to lead to a conviction.

Police say Hodges entered the Holiday station at 7th street and North Broadway in the early morning hours of July 12th after filling up his vehicle with gas totaling $90. He then went inside and although he did not show a weapon, demanded cash from the clerk, who recognized him as a regular customer. The employee put money from the cash register on the counter and Hodges took it - after giving $50 back to the clerk  “ so he would have change for customers. “  He also took some cigarettes. Hodges left but then returned and bought a cigarette lighter - using the stolen loot to buy it.

Police located him a short while later and after a brief pursuit, he was apprehended. Hodges told officers his family needed the money because his mother was being evicted.

His 33 month prison term will be stayed for 10 years as long as he stays out of trouble. He has also been ordered to perform 100 hours of community work service and pay $400 in restitution.
