Part of the fun of being a scout is the uniform. I loved collecting badges for my vest when I was a girl scout. Unfortunately, a staple of the boy scout uniform could cause serious harm to your child. More than 100,000 neckerchief slides are being recalled because they may be contaminated with lead.

The brass slides were sold through Boy Scout retail stores and websites from February to August 2018. Four styles are part of the recall: red wolf, green bear, orange lion, and blue Webelos.

  • How do you know if you have a slide that is included in the recall?

Check for the "Made in China” tag and P.O. numbers 200228276, 20023175, 200233281 or 200236630 printed on a white label attached to the back of the neckerchief slide.

  • What do you do if you have a bad neckerchief slide?

Immediately stop using the slide and return them to any Boy Scouts of America store or distributor.
