The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for a large section of south central Minnesota as heavy snow is expected to fall through the day.  Totals are forecast to be as high as 7 - 10 inches.

The Weather Service has already received reports of 4 - 8 inches in the storm zone. Among the cities included in the warning:  Mankato, St. Peter, Faribault, Waseca and Owatonna.

Snow is expected to continue into these evening for much of southeastern Minnesota and the Twin Cities with totals in the 2 - 5 inch range.

Cold air will move in behind the storm, producing a very frigid Thanksgiving Day for the region.
