HALESTORM , yee-haw time? naw….

LZZY Hale & her kick-ass band never seem to disappoint, even when they find themselves in 'unfamiliar surroundings', like opening for a country performer?
That's what happened last night at the sold-out, brand-spankin new Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, SD. Eric Church would be the headliner on this evening.

What would appear on the surface as a 'musical train wreck' was actually not far fetched at all, especially if you ask LZZY Hale, who explained that Church & his band are just a bunch of 'metal heads' at heart. Lzzy & her band, Arejay Hale - drums, Joe Hottinger - lead guitar, Josh Smith - bass, have been seen in Nashville a lot recently, since that is where they have been making their latest record, with notable producer Jay Joyce. Joyce also produced the critically acclaimed, Grammy nominated Church record, The Outsiders. Church has opened for Metallica at their Orion Festival in Atlantic City a few years back, so perhaps Church was just reflecting back when he offered Halestorm the opening slot on selected dates of his tour.

I ran into Joe Hottinger (guitars) cruising the halls of the venue before the show. He confirmed that the Halestorm record is done. With both of us being Packer fans we'll always have a mutual interest, of sorts. We used to live a mere 20 miles apart in SE WI, he in Hartford, WI, while I lived in Mayville, WI. #cheeseheads

Halestorm banged-out a blistering 5-somg set Saturday nite!
In addition to melting faces & kicking some plaid wear'in country ASS, there were plenty Halestorm fanatics in the pit for the show, and lined up hours before at the ticket turnstyles.
