The charges were filed against Brown in August following an investigation that began in January after the victim's mother contacted Rochester Police. She told investigators that Brown and her daughter, who was under 10 years old, had been communicating on Snapchat and claimed Brown had asked the child to send him images of her that were sexual in nature. It was also alleged that Brown had sent the girl a sexually explicit image of himself.

A search warrant was obtained for Brown's phone and other electronic devices, where investigators discovered a conversation between the victim and Brown during which he asks to meet with her. There was also a message that has Brown indicating his desire to have sex with the child.

He is scheduled to be sentenced on the afternoon of February 6.
