Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - For the third time in a week, the Rochester Fire Department is reporting a residential fire that resulted in significant damage.

Crews were sent to a residential unit at Willows & Waters Senior Living at 707 Upper Meadow Lane NW around 2:00 PM Tuesday and arrived to find a fully involved attached garage fire. An explosion was also reported shortly after they arrived.

They were able to bring the fire under control before flames spread to the home but damage was estimated at $250,000.

RFD says the garage and contents - which included a car and lawnmowers - along with a boat parked near the garage were all total losses. There was also smoke damage to the home and attic area.

The complex is located near Essex Park and there are no fire hydrants in the area.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

No injuries were reported
