Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester woman was arrested Wednesday after police say she stole a car, crashed into another vehicle and later smashed into a tree.
The incident began around 8:30 p.m. when a man saw the woman drive off with his car.
The man told police he had left the keys in the vehicle when he went inside an apartment in the 2800 block of Charles Ct NW. As the woman began driving out of the parking lot, she collided with another car. The two men in the vehicle decided to chase the car and followed it to the intersection of 14th St NW and the west Highway 52 frontage road. That’s where the woman crashed into a tree and then ran on foot to the nearby Colonial Lanes.
A police officer found her in the parking lot and arrested her.
She has been identified as 25-year-old Saynab Ahmed, who is facing DUI and other charges.
