Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) - The driver of a vehicle involved in a hit and run in downtown Rochester on Monday is being sought by police.

A spokesman says a 63-year-old man in a wheelchair was in the crosswalk and had the green light at the intersection of 1st St and North Broadway when he was struck around 5 p.m.

The victim, who lives in the nearby Park Towers apartment building, was in the southwest section of the intersection when he was hit by a southbound, dark-colored SUV.

The victim was knocked out of his wheelchair and suffered leg injuries. He was taken to St. Mary’s where he was apparently treated and released.
