Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The suspected gunman in a recent Rochester shooting has been apprehended.

Arrested at his home Thursday was 20-year-old Luke Giwa. He is expected to be arraigned Friday.

He is accused of shooting at a car that was in the parking lot of the southeast KFC restaurant Oct. 23rd. Two 16-year-olds were in the vehicle. One was hit in the leg, the other suffered a graze wound. An off-duty police officer was in the drive-through and saw the shooter run to a nearby car. The officer followed the car but lost sight of it. Investigators were eventually able to connect Giwa to the shooting.

They arrested the suspected driver of the getaway car on Tuesday. That man - 28-year-old George Oliver - was arraigned Thursday on two counts of 2nd-degree assault and his bail was set at $75,000. Giwa is expected to face the same charges.

According to the criminal complaint, the shooting may be connected to an earlier incident involving the victims and the suspects. One victim told investigators he was at a party at China Hall in September and got into a fight with Giwa and “beat him up.” Oliver was working security at the event and was also assaulted.
