Exercise Studio Now Closing All Gym Locations In Minnesota
A popular exercise studio just announced that it will be closing all of its locations here in Minnesota soon.
It's never good news when a business announces the closing of one of its locations, but it's even more crushing when a business announces that it is shuttering ALL of its locations. But that is just what happened here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes concerning this chain of exercise studios and gyms.
The fitness sector, which includes health clubs, exercise studios, gyms and other workout facilities, was one of the hardest hit when the pandemic swarmed into Minnesota back in 2020. According to the National Health & Fitness Alliance, 22 percent of all U.S. health clubs and studios have closed since the pandemic began, with the industry losing more than $29.2 billion.

Those losses hit close to home here in the North Star State. Minnesota Monthly noted that health clubs, exercise studios, gyms and other workout facilities across our state were forced to shut down two separate times in 2020: The first lasted for nearly three months in the spring and another month-long shutdown happened later that fall.
And that's the main reason that Alchemy 365, a chain of exercise studios whose motto is 'Pursue your legend,' now says it will close all of its Minnesota locations later this year. BringMeTheNews says the business sent a letter to its members earlier this week saying it never quite recovered from those pandemic-era losses, and that all four of its locations here in the Bold North will close as of November 16th.
According to the Alchemy 365 website, the company, which is based in Colorado and operates four locations in the Denver area, also maintained four locations here in Minnesota:
- York Avenue in Edina
- Highland Park on Cleveland Avenue in St. Paul
- North Loop on 9th Avenue North in Minneapolis
- Northeast on Southeast 3rd Avenue in Minneapolis
There was no word on whether those Colorado locations would be affected by the Minnesota closings. Of course, as we noted before, Alchemy 365 is only the latest brand to announce that it's shuttering its locations here. Keep scrolling to check out a list of other familiar brands that have also closed locations in Minnesota this year.
