Illegal to eat a burger? Say it ain't so!!

I stumbled upon an article of the weirdest food laws. No lie, legit laws that were actually voted on and put into effect. Who in the world is the monster that made it against the law to eat a burger? Let me at him. ;)

Did you know that it's a law in at least three states that you cannot walk around with an ice cream cone in your back pocket? In Boston, it's illegal to eat peanuts in church. In Marion, Ohio, it’s illegal to eat a doughnut while walking backward. Some of these laws are laughable. Like, was this a problem at some point?

In Iowa, you'll never see an ice cream truck. At least in one Iowa city.

According to Taste of Home, in 1967, the town of Indianola banned ice cream trucks from roaming its streets. But, why??

In Wisconsin, margarine banned in several establishments.

Public schools, jails, and hospitals are not permitted to feed the students, inmates, or patients margarine. Per state law, these groups may not be fed butter substitutes unless the substitution is necessary for their health. According to Taste of Home, this law was put in place to protect the butter industry in America’s Dairyland.

And finally to our crazy Minnesota law - no hamburgers?!!

Apparently this is actually a law in St. Cloud. It's illegal to eat hamburgers on Sundays in St. Cloud, according to Taste of Home. I'd be breaking that law every weekend if I lived up there.
