Actor Josh Duhamel Lives in the Middle of Nowhere in Minnesota and Loves It

Getting away from the hustle and bustle of life for a while is important for everyone, but actor Josh Duhamel, known for his roles in things like 'All My Children' and 'Transformers', has found it fulfilling.

It makes sense, I mean, Josh grew up in small-town Minot, North Dakota.

Josh Duhamel Built a Cabin in the Woods of Minnesota for his Family

I learned, thanks to an interview he did with Parade, that Josh and his family actually spend a lot of time living in the woods in the middle of nowhere in Minnesota. He said the nearest store is about 40 miles away.

Josh purchased the land 15 years ago and has worked hard to build an escape for his family. He recalled that at one point he was washing his dishes in the lake before everything was up and running in the cabin.

But he and his family love it. He said, “'You really get a chance to get back to the basics. You're not consumed by all these other distractions. When you're out there, it's really about having fun, making sure everybody's warm, everybody's got food and water.'”

Josh Duhamel and Family Love Escaping to the Minnesota Great Outdoors

Josh has an 11-year-old son, Axl, with his ex-wife Fergie, and a 15-month-old son with his wife Audra. Axl loves to be out in the woods and on the water and Josh hopes his youngest will grow to be that way too.

He told Parade that Axl isn't "'on his iPad when he's out there. He's out there in the boat with me, or he's playing soccer on the beach, or he's out there in the woods doing whatever I'm doing.'"

Nothing that I saw revealed the town that his cabin is in but it may be in the Detroit Lakes area because Josh shared on his Instagram in February of 2021 a video of him doing the Polar Plunge for the Boys and Girls Club of Detroit Lakes. So if I had to take a guess, I'd assume that it's around that area.
