
Four Hurt in Three Motorcycle Crashes on I-90 in Southern Minnesota
Undated (KROC-AM News)- Interstate 90 in southern Minnesota saw three injury crashes involving motorcycles on Sunday.

The State Patrol responded to the first crash shortly before 11:30 a.m. and were called to the final crash reported Sunday around 5:20 p.m.
One of the three crashes involved two vehicles. The crashes happened between Mower and Jackson Counties.

Motorcycle and Minivan Collide on I-90 Near Blue Earth Exit
First responders were dispatched to the first crash about five miles west of the Blue Earth exit. A minivan and motorcycle traveling east collided, the state crash report says.
61-year-old Marlon Cesar Machado was operating the motorcycle. Machado and his passenger, identified as 55-year-old Sandra Dacol, were brought to a hospital in Blue Earth with non-life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol says.
Both were wearing helmets, according to the state crash report. None of the three occupants in the minivan were hurt.
The State Patrol identified the driver of the van as 38-year-old Adam Westley Nielsen of Nevada, IA.
Motorcycle Hauling Trailer Enters Ditch, Rolls on I-90 in Western Austin
More than three hours later, the State Patrol responded to the second I-90 motorcycle crash of the day at the westernmost Austin exit.
An eastbound motorcycle towing a utility trailer went off the road, entered the ditch and rolled at the I-90/Oakland Ave. West interchange, according to the state crash report.
57-year-old James William Neitman of Gulf Breeze, FL was identified as the motorcycle driver. The State Patrol says he was brought to an Austin hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and that he was not wearing a helmet.
Gust of Wind Blamed for Causing Motorcycle Crash on I-90 in Jackson County, MN
The third injury crash on Sunday happened 15 miles east of Worthington where an eastbound motorcycle was hit with a gust of wind, which caused the operator to lose control and crash into the median.
The state crash report identifies the motorcyclist as 67-year-old Kurt Axel Bartenwerfer of Ottawa, CA. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was brought to a Worthington hospital.
It’s not known if Bartenwerfer was wearing a helmet, according to the State Patrol. Alcohol was not a factor in any of the motorcycle crashes, the State Patrol says.
