Where To Find Swimming Lessons Near Rochester, Minnesota

When I was a kid, I remember going to the outdoor pool before it opened for the day and meeting my swim instructor for the first time.  I was nervous, I had no idea what I was about to learn, and that deep end looked pretty scary!

I didn't appreciate it when I was little, but now I realize how much my mom sacrificed for me so I could learn how to swim.  And I'm so glad that she did!

An average of 358 pool or spa-related fatal drownings involving children under 15 occurred annually between 2019 and 2021 in the United States.  75% of those reported were younger than 5 years old. - U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC)

The statistics from the CPSC are pretty alarming and as soon as my kids were old enough, I got them in the pool too so they knew how to stay safe around water.

Three Tips If You Are Signing Your Kids Up For Swim Lessons

There is a huge need in the Rochester area for swimming lessons, and unfortunately, we just don't have enough places to provide lessons based on demand.  After the Rochester Area Family YMCA closed, that need grew even more.

Here are three tips if you are looking forward to enrolling your child in swim lessons:

#1 - Get registered right away.  Due to demand, classes fill up very fast.

#2 - Be flexible.  If you have multiple kids, there is a possibility that you will not have a chance to enroll your kids in lessons at the same time and/or day.

#3 - Be willing to drive outside of Rochester.  Several towns outside of Rochester provide swim lessons.  Stewartville is on the list above but you may find an opening for a class you need in Kasson, Plainview, or other area towns.
