While the North Broadway construction project is starting to near completion, another area of Rochester is seeing a few construction crews in action.

Planet Fitness announced recently that their location is undergoing a few new changes.  Some of the construction will require the popular fitness club to close for a full week in December.

New Building Is Up Near Planet Fitness in Southeast Rochester

While some devastating closings have happened lately in Rochester, news of businesses opening has also been a bit of good news.  Last year, Lumi opened up in the old Well Dining (old Dooley's Pub) location.  Bloom Acai created a new kiosk inside the Discover One building in Downtown Rochester.  North Stone Kitchen recently started serving up some amazing food in the Peace Plaza area (I've had their pancakes...amazing!).  And another one of my favorites, Qamaria, started sharing its amazing coffee to the Med City in March of 2025.

Near Qamaria, another new building is getting ready to open.

Next time you drive near the corner of 12th Street SE and 15th Ave. SE, check to see if this new business next to Caribou Coffee is open.
