Due to 76 people receiving injuries, which included some fingertip amputations, a new recall has been issued by United States Consumer Product Safety Commission.

New Recall Announced For 1.2 Million Igloos Sold at Costco, Target, And Other Stores in the United States, Including in Minnesota

Consumers are asked to immediately stop using an item that now has 78 incident reports of finger injuries.  Sadly, 26 of those reports have led to fingertip amputations, bone fractures or lacerations.

The item being recalled is an Igloo cooler that has a tow handle which has the potential to pinch the fingertip of the user against the cooler, leading to a possible injury.

In February 2025, over one million Igloo coolers were recalled.  In May 2025, the Consumer Product Safety Commission website provided the following update, which has now included an additional 130,000 coolers sold in the United States.
