It’s Time to Ring Bells in Southeast Minnesota – What You Need To Know
Do you have a jar of coins at your house? Now is the time to put some cash or coins from that jar in your car because the bell ringing has started in Southeast Minnesota! That also means that your chance to ring bells this holiday season has also arrived.
Registration to ring bells is now open and below is your complete guide to getting signed up as an individual, a group, or even virtually.
Registration is Now Open to Ring Bells for The Salvation Army in Byron, Rochester, Stewartville, and Chatfield Minnesota
Remember when Rochester had a Fareway store? It was just off of 41st Street and although it was a small space, everyone knew that this was the spot to go for quality meat at a great price. During the Christmas season, the sound of bells ringing and people singing or playing instruments could be heard as you left the store. If you ever saw a young girl playing Christmas music on a violin, that was my daughter.
Seeing the generosity of people as they left the store is something I'm so glad my kids got to experience. As little kids would drop in a quarter or a woman in scrubs rushed out after dropping a $10 bill in the kettle, my kids also heard the words "thank you for ringing". We weren't there for the thanks. We were just happy to help and thankful that THEY were giving.
Your chance to experience that same level of gratitude is here. The Salvation Army in Rochester kicked off the bell-ringing season on Friday, November 8th, 2024. According to the registertoring.com website, red kettles will be at various locations in Rochester, Byron, Stewartville, and Chatfield this year.
