Two Crashes In Southeast Minnesota Lead To Hospitalizations

Undated (KROC-AM News)- A pair of separate crashes in southeast Minnesota sent two people to the hospital Monday.

Both crashes involved multiple vehicles and occurred on Monday afternoon. One happened in Dodge County and the other occurred in Mower County.

A teen man and a Florida woman were identified as the two injured occupants.

Two Injured in Crashes in Dodge and Mower Counties Monday Afternoon

Monday’s first crash occurred shortly after 2 p.m. at the intersection of Hwy. 56 and Dodge County Rd. 34. Northwest of Dodge Center.

A small Ford SUV heading east on County Rd. 34 collided with an Infiniti SUV that was northbound on Hwy. 56, the state crash report says.

66-year-old Jo Anne Kerr of Venice, FL was riding in the Infiniti. She was taken to a hospital in Owatonna with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the State Patrol.

66-year-old Michael Guy Kerr of Venice, FL was driving the Infiniti and 28-year-old Tay Lee Beckjorden of Faribault was driving the Ford.

Kerr, Beckjorden and two passengers in the Ford were not hurt. Everyone involved was buckled up and it’s not known if alcohol was involved in the crash, the state crash report says.

Monday afternoon’s second crash occurred on Hwy. 218 south of Austin.

A pick-up and minivan heading north on the two-lane highway collided at the intersection with 29th Ave. SE shortly after 4:15 p.m., according to the state crash report.

The State Patrol identified 18-year-old Brayden Robert Lowe of Austin as the pick-up driver. He was taken to a hospital in Austin with non-life-threatening injuries.

The other driver, identified as 74-year-old John Curtis Schmit of Austin, was not hurt.

The state crash report does not say which motorist was in front. Both drivers were buckled up and alcohol was not involved in the crash.
