Two Men Seriously Injured at Minnesota Agriculture Facility
Renville, MN (KROC-AM News) - Authorities in western Minnesota are reporting that two men suffered serious injuries in a work-related incident Friday morning.
The Renville County Sheriff's Office says deputies and the emergency responders were dispatched to the Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar Cooperative plant near Renville just after 6:30 AM after receiving reports the two men had fallen inside a storage tank. A news release says the injured man were on scaffolding and fell 35-40 feet to the ground when the scaffolding tipped over while some coworkers were attempting to move the structure.
Both men were airlifted to a hospital in St. Cloud. Information about their medical conditions is not available.
They were identified as 22-year-old Chance Anderson of Adams and 30-year-old Tedrick Coleman from Louisiana.
The Renville County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Renville Fire Department, Olivia Ambulance Service, Granite Falls Ambulance, and LifeLink III.
