Suspects Charged in Rochester, MN Park Assault and Robbery Case
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The suspects in a robbery and assault reported at a Rochester park over the weekend were arranged in Olmsted County Court Monday.
Rochester Police Captain Casey Moilanen said a 24-year-old Oronoco man reported three men punched and choked him then took his wallet on a walking path near the intersection of 7th St. Northeast and East Silver Lake Dr. Northeast around 6:20 Saturday morning. An officer responding to the reported robbery and assault saw three men in the area matching a description given by the victim.
The men were arrested and brought to the Olmsted County jail where they were later identified as the alleged attackers and robbers by the victim. The suspects, identified as 24-year-old Keith Mendoza of Rochester, 20-year-old Munasar Mohamed of Rochester and 22-year-old Mohamed Mohamed of Stewartville were each arraigned Monday on felony charges of simple robbery and first-degree aggravated robbery.
Mendoza’s charges accuse him of being liable for the crimes of another. The judge in the case set conditional bail at $15,000 for each man. The three men are due back in court on June 14.
Police say the victim had injuries consistent with being assaulted. He was treated by an ambulance crew and released at the scene.
