Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The State Patrol is reporting that a State Trooper and another motorist suffered what appeared to be minor injuries in a collision this morning in Rochester.

A statement issued by the State Patrol indicates the trooper was responding to a call about a driving complaint with the emergency lights on the squad car activated when the collision with the second vehicle occurred at the intersection of 19th Street Northwest and West Frontage Road, near Highway 52. The incident was reported around 7:45 AM.

State Patrol Colonel Christina Bogojevic issued a statement concerning the crash this afternoon.

“We are thankful that no one was seriously hurt in this incident. We understand that this situation may raise concerns within the community, and we want to assure you that we are committed to a thorough investigation. The Rochester Police Department is handling the investigation. Any additional information will be shared by them.”

The name of the State Trooper and the other motorist have not been released.
