Southern Minnesota Stabbing That Sent Victim to Hospital Under Investigation
Owatonna, MN (KROC-AM News)- Authorities are investigating a stabbing that was reported in southern Minnesota earlier this week.
A news release issued by the Owatonna Police Department (OPD) says the officers responded to the report of a stabbing around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday.
It happened near Owatonna's St. Mary’s School in the 700 block of Cedar Ave. South. The report indicates the stabbing victim was transported to a hospital by ambulance for further care.
The victim’s identity and a description of their condition have not been released. The news release does not indicate that an arrest has been made.
Investigators have not indicated if there is a suspect in connection to the stabbing. Despite that, officials believe the stabbing was an isolated incident and does not pose a threat to the public’s safety.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the stabbing and/or other crimes to contact the OPD Detective Bureau at 507-444-3800.
The stabbing is the latest incident in what has been a busy week for Owatonna Police. Earlier this week officers and members of the Regional SWAT Team took a man into custody following a firearm complaint at an apartment building.
