Rochester Police: State Trooper Involved in Rochester Crash Was Responding to Hit-&-Run
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The State Trooper who was involved in a crash at a busy northwest Rochester intersection Tuesday morning was responding to a hit-and-run in the same area.

That’s according to Rochester Police Department Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson. The crash involving the trooper was reported around 7:45 a.m.
A statement issued by the State Patrol says the topper’s squad car, which had its emergency lights activated, collided with another vehicle at the intersection of 19th Street Northwest and West Frontage Road, near Highway 52.
The trooper and other motorist suffered minor injuries, authorities said.
Rochester Police Seeking Driver in Hit & Run Crash That Preceded Crash Involving State Trooper
On Wednesday morning the Rochester Police Department released limited information regarding the traffic incident the trooper was responding to.
Grayson says dispatch received a report of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of 19th Ave. and 19th St. Northwest moments before the crash involving the trooper.
The driver of one of the vehicles involved in the first crash had fled the scene on foot and has not yet been located, Grayson says. Both traffic crashes are under investigation.
No one was seriously hurt in the first crash. The names of the people involved in the crashes have not been released.
