Rochester Man Accused Sexually Assaulting, Impregnating Intoxicated Woman
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Olmsted County Attorney’s Office filed multiple felony charges against a Rochester man accused of sexually assaulting an intoxicated woman earlier this year.
The criminal complaint, filed in Olmsted County Court Thursday, alleges the sexual assault happened at a southwest Rochester residence during the early morning hours of February 25.
The victim reported the alleged sex assault on February 25 and told Rochester Police investigators on two occasions that she had blacked out after spending the previous night consuming alcohol at an event then at bars in downtown Rochester, the charges say.
In an early March interview with investigators, the victim said she woke on the morning of February 25 to 27-year-old Manuel Sanchez-Sosa raping her while she was unable to move, the complaint says.
She said she had gone downtown with him and met with a friend of his during the previous night. In the two interviews with law enforcement, she said Sanchez-Sosa confirmed to her that they had sex when they had woken up on February 25, court documents say.

Sanchez-Sosa told investigators that he had sex with the victim and said he and the victim were both intoxicated. He admitted to having sex with the victim but said she had started the encounter. In April the victim told law enforcement that she was pregnant with Sanchez-Sosa’s child, the complaint says.
Sanchez-Sosa is facing charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, third-degree criminal sexual conduct and fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct. He’s been summoned to make his first court appearance in the case on October 12.
