Olmsted County Commissioner Mark Thein Announces Re-Election Bid
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester area businessman today announced he is seeking reelection to the Olmsted County Board of Commissioners.
Mark Thein has represented District 7 on the County Board since 2017 and is pursuing a third term in office. Prior to joining the County Board, Thein spent 18 years serving as an Oronoco Township Supervisor.
In announcing his reelection bid, Thein indicated the transition to County Commissioner has been both challenging and rewarding, "As I am not at all a partisan or political person, I have found that the role of a county commissioner fits me well. I enjoy working with colleagues that bring different perspectives and life experiences to the table and find ways to work together to reach common ground to continue to make Olmsted County a thriving and safe community. I would describe myself as a Pragmatic Optimist and I feel that my experience as a small business owner – who knows what it is like to have to make payroll every Friday – is a voice that is needed in local government."
The official filing period for positions on the Olmsted County Board of Commissioners and the other elected positions that will appear on the fall ballot opens next Tuesday.
