St. Bonafacius, MN (KROOC-AM News) - The State Patrol is indicating alcohol was involved in a fatal motorcycle crash late last night.

A preliminary report on the deadly incident states that the motorcyclist collided with a jeep Cherokee at an intersection near the southwest edge of Lake Minnetonka. The crash occurred just before 11 PM.

According to the State Patrol, the motorcycle was traveling west on Highway 7 when the collision occurred at the intersection with Hennepin County Road 44 near the entrance to Lake Minnetonka Regional Park about halfway between Excelsior and the town of St. Bonafacius.

The State Patrol says the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as 24-year-old Johnathan Hommer. The crash report, which does not list his hometown, states that alcohol was involved in his case.

The driver of the Jeep, 41-year-old Miriam Sanderson of Mound, and her passenger were not injured. The State Patrol indicated they were both wearing seatbelts.
