Red Wing Man Facing Drug Charges Following Rochester Traffic Stop
58-year-old Barrington Michael Daniel of Red Wing is charged with one count of first-degree drug sales and a count of second-degree drug possession.
The complaint says an officer stopped a vehicle Daniel was riding in for an equipment violation in the area of East Center St. and 8th Ave. SE.
Police conducted a search of Daniel’s person and found a baggie containing a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine and $1,720 in cash. The complaint says the methamphetamine weighed 49.1 grams with packaging.
A bag found on the passenger’s side of the vehicle contained a baggie containing a small amount of methamphetamine powder, clear plastic baggies and multiple glass pipes with residue, the charges say.
Court records indicate Daniel has prior convictions of third-degree drug possession in Goodhue County in Nov. of 2022 and of third-degree drug sales in Olmsted County in March of 2023. He received prison sentences in both cases.
Daniel made his first court appearance on Thursday. His conditional bail was set at $30,000 and he is due back in court later this month.
