Former Rochester Man Arrested in Drug Bust at Austin Restaurant
Austin, MN (KROC-AM News)- A former Rochester man with a lengthy criminal history was arrested following a drug seizure at a property that houses an Austin restaurant.
A news release from the Austin Police Department says law enforcement executed a search warrant at a property in the 3400 block of West Oakland Ave. on Friday. Authorities reported seizing cocaine and suspected fentanyl during the raid.
Officers arrested 39-year-old Terry Heggs of Austin after law enforcement reportedly seized approximately 50 grams of cocaine and an undisclosed amount of fentanyl. The search occurred at 3401 West Oakland Ave. and included the restaurant Wing Bazaar, police say.
Officers also say Heggs was located near a person protected from contact with him by a Domestic Abuse No Contact Order. Charges in the alleged drug seizure are pending a review by the Mower County Attorney’s Office.
Court records indicate Heggs has a lengthy criminal history in Olmsted County. His criminal record shows previous convictions of felony drug sales in 2018 and 2011, felony assault in 2011, criminal sexual conduct in 2011 and felony stalking in 2018.
The Austin Police Department, Mower County Sheriff’s Office, Southeast Minnesota Violent Crimes Enforcement Team and South-Central Minnesota Drug Task Force assisted in the raid and investigation.
