Fire in Room Forces Evacuation of Rochester Hotel
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A fire forced guests of a Rochester hotel to evacuate the building on Monday.

Five engines were part of the response. The Rochester Fire Department responded to the blaze shortly before 5:45 p.m.
The fire broke out at the La Quinta Inn & Suites at 4353 Canal Pl Southeast.
Responding crews found an evacuation in progress and smoke filling the hallway on the second floor, a news release issued by the Rochester Fire Department says.
Firefighters found and extinguished an active fire using a pressurized water can in room 210, the news release says. Other firefighters searched neighboring hotel rooms and adjacent areas to ensure no one was on the second floor.
Upon extinguishing the blaze, crews ventaled the building using high powered fans to clear out smoke and toxic gasses produced by the blaze, the news release says.
Firefighters evaluated the guests and hotel staff for smoke inhalation. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is not available. Officials say the blaze damaged the bathroom in one of the hotel rooms.
The Rochester Police Department and Mayo Clinic Ambulance also responded to the hotel fire.
